FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do you make dice?
A small batch of 2-part epoxy resin is mixed (with additions of various pigments, glitters, and inclusions) and injected into a custom silicone mold. The dice are then cured under pressure, removed from the molds, trimmed, sanded, and polished before the numbers are painted with a variety of paints and pigments. Each set takes approximately 4-5 hours to make.  If you are looking to learn the craft, I do not provide resources or tutorials but there are many videos and communities that can help.

How much do your dice cost?

Standard-sized 7 piece Resin sets start at $95*. To allow for revisions and adequate communication and collaboration, custom commissions for full sets start at $115*. Oversized D20 prices vary and I do not currently take commissions for single dice. Hand Painted designs use round-edge factory blanks as a base and start at $75* per set.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! Items are shipped, tracked and insured, from the USA to many countries. Shipping is $7 USD to any domestic (US) destination. International shipments are available for Australia, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, and Switzerland and are sent via USPS First Class Package International for $18 USD. As an added bonus, 90% of shipping materials are reusable or recyclable!

What "imperfections" in my dice can I expect?
Each die is individually hand crafted, so there will occasionally be small scratches, dents, or scuffs. I will never sell dice that cannot be used as described. Images of any of these handmade marks will be included in each listing. If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, you may return the items for a full refund. Please see shop policies for details.

Are these dice balanced?
We dice makers get this question a lot. If your DM is okay with you rolling factory-made dice you can roll these. Simply put, the only 100% balanced dice are made in hermetically sealed chambers to stop any air from getting into them and then used for gambling in casinos. Even still, these dice are swapped out every 15-20 minutes because conditions can cause the dice to consistently roll a number over time. I make my dice in a pressure pot, so they are bubble free. The inclusions I use are incredibly lightweight and do not impact balance to any noticeable degree. Most people will never even roll a dice set enough times to generate a large enough data set to create a definitive level of "fairness". For the extra curious, you can read more about dice balance here.

How do your dice differ from regular manufactured sets?
Because these sets are individually crafted, no two will ever be exactly alike! The pigments, glitters, and paints used to create these treasures are not often seen in larger scale productions due to cost. They are all created using a custom mold with a font not in production anywhere else and would be an excellent addition to any collection. Like any dice however, it is not recommended to roll them across rough surfaces, or throw/hit them against things for risk of damage. For best results, a friendly gaming table or dice rolling tray is recommended. Finally, by buying a set made from an independent creator, you directly support my ability to continue making dice with more materials & equipment.

How does the custom dice commission process work?

A limited amount of custom commission slots will be posted to the shop when available or opened via form submission. If they are in stock you can:

1. Purchase a custom set shop listing and enter your email as requested.

2. I will send you a message to the email you provided to discuss the details of the set you'd like made. In your replies you can attach any photos with ideas, examples and/or inspiration for the dice. If you have any character artwork to reference (if you're basing the set on a character), I'd love to see it. The more, the better! If adequate references/ideas are not provided, I will use my creative magic to make something for you to the best of my ability. But, please be aware that this custom commission is non-refundable. The product created will be based on the information given.

3. We will discuss your ideas and any materials that may need to be gathered. If I do not feel I will be able to produce what you are imagining, a refund can be issued at this time.

4. I will cast your dice and send a photo of the trimmed set for approval in its raw state. One (1) re-cast is allowed free of charge (subsequent recasts are $5 each to be paid via invoice), but buyer beware that any set proofs of commissions that are not approved may be finished and sold in future shop updates.

5. I will send you photographs of your finished dice set and ship out the physical set to you!
